*The Pedersen Dual Quarter Wave Technique (PDQWT) involves placing over the source of illumination a pair of one quarter wave polarizing surfaces that are rotated, one against the other, to control the amount of back light on a prepared microscope slide.
This slide was prepared by T. Gerrard & Co (number not legible). It has been used in an unknown classroom setting. From the quality of the work, and the general appearance, it is estimated to have been prepared prior to 1960.
