Hematoxylin stain.

Actual staining component is hematein. Used in conjunction with a mordant such as alum or an iron salt to stain nuclei or to show muscle striations, in conjunction with phosphotugstic acid, it may be used to demonstrate fibrin or neuroglia fibers as well as muscle striation.
