A thermocouple generates a voltage differential at its terminals with a rise in temperature at the junction of two wires of dissimilar metals.
The wire is ANSI type J iron-constantan. A typical unit will generate about 14 millivolts at a temperature of 500°F.
The output must be measured with a very high resistance voltmeter.
Length is 19cm.
